SMTV SmartCast - No QR Code for Guest to Scan

Some common reason why only the Google Wallpaper Images show on the SmartCast page;


Check another room and see if the page displays a QR code on the SmartCast screen or it only displays the Google Wallpaper Images. *Note allow at least 60 seconds after the television starts up for the Chromecast to get to the correct page as it is starting up also and needs to authenticate on the Wi-Fi Network to download the QR Display page.


  • If it does only display the Google Wallpaper Images then it maybe a site wide issue, please check another room in a different part of the property to eliminate a isolated Wi-Fi related issue.
  • If the entire property is experiencing the same issue. Please lodge a support call with support@smarttv.freshdesk.com 


If only one room is displaying the Google Wallpaper Images it may have been reset or lost it configuration. 


  • This will need to be hard reset and reconfigured using the Google Home APK. Refer the Help Article on how to reset a Chromecast Device.
