In the event a Google Chromecast has become unusable and needs to be reset, or a guest may have tried to reset and change the settings. It will need to be reset again and reconfigured correctly.
The reset and reconfiguration is completed using a mobile device with the Google Home APK installed. Before attempting this process, ensure you have a portable device available with the Google Home APK installed.
On the physical Chromecast device
While the Chromecast is plugged into the television , hold down the button on the side of the Chromecast. The LED will begin blinking orange. When the LED light turns white, release the button and the Chromecast will begin the reboot sequence.
Set up Chromecast
- Make sure you plug in your Chromecast correctly.
- If needed, download the Google Home app on your Chromecast-supported Android device.
- Open the Google Home app
. - Make sure your device is connected to the SMTV Cast WiFi network. The password for this network is located in your handover document.
- Follow the steps.
- If you don’t find the steps to set up your Chromecast:
- At the top left of the Google Home app home screen, tap Add
Set up device 
New device. - Follow the remaining steps.
- At the top left of the Google Home app home screen, tap Add
- Note - when you are asked for room name, scroll to the bottom of the options and use add custom room, now you can give the Chromecast the correct room number.
- If you don’t find the steps to set up your Chromecast:
- Setup is successful. You're all done!
